Warehouse 21 is looking for an Event Specialist to work as part of our event, production and warehouse team. This part-time position will work roughly 20 hours per week and will contribute to the successful execution of Warehouse 21’s Event and Experiential program. This is a great opportunity for someone with carpentry skills, and a strong desire to learn more about building, finishing, and installing structures like trade show booths, retail displays, or museum exhibits. Training will be provided. This position will assist in preparation, construction, and warehousing as well as attend trade show events.
Qualifications
Strong carpentry skills
Ability to organize work and physical materials or inventory
Analytical thinker and problem solver
Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team and as an individual contributor
Ability to travel on occasion with each trip lasting five to fourteen days
Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred
Note: Training will be provided to build on the candidate’s skills.
Job Duties
Event Preparation/Construction (50%)
Fabricate and build event assets from scratch such as cabinets, headers, etc.
Finish components by use of paint, stain, clearcoat, veneer, and laminate
Create special or unique booth needs like built-in hardware, lighting, etc.
Assemble actual event booths or stands to ensure fit and finish
Use CAD, CNC programming, and CNC operations to make parts for construction
Warehouse Support (50%)
Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using fork trucks, or other equipment
Organize warehouse and construction areas. Keep inventory of warehouse and construction materials in an online program. Store items according to the warehouse master plan.
Unpack all items returned from events and check quality, functionality, etc.
Prepare products and assets for shipping (boxing, protecting, etc.)
Additional Support (as needed based on skill)
Provides support for graphics and hardware/tech projects
Pick up and deliver supplies
Other Comments
This role has to be flexible and accommodate all sorts of different scenarios and last minute requests
The role has to be able to maintain calm in the face of fast deadlines
This job operates in both a manufacturing and professional office environment. This is largely an active role.
